The Brief
An online portfolio for television and film composer Christopher J. Ward. The client wanted a visually memorable website with highly intuitive user experience.
Design & UX
I found user experience across many existing composers’ websites stifling, with saturated content and heavy colours. I opted to eschew this for a design with white space and emphasis on simplicity and strong features – particularly with the cinematically-inspired logo.
I felt it was important to establish an effective and clear user flow by designing the homepage as a vertical scroll to firstly introduce the user to Christopher before inviting exploration of his work with easy navigation between project pages – all the time allowing one-click access to his contact details.
